Milan, Italy, 3 November 2026 – Norton Motorcycles returns to EICMA with the world premiere of a new model line as the British motorcycle manufacturer marks the next stage of its long-term Resurgence strategy.

Leading Norton’s 2026 presence is the world premiere of the new Norton 450 urban that brings the company’s next-generation approach to design, engineering and rider technology to a new segment.

This new model, available in two versions, demonstrates the breadth of Norton’s rapidly developing range – spanning road-focused high performance with Manx and Manx R, everyday adventure-touring with Atlas and Atlas GT, and now a whole new generation of accessible urban exploration and commuting with the new Norton 450 urban.

EICMA 2026 marks a year since Norton launched its Resurgence strategy. At EICMA 2025 the company set out a long-term programme underpinned by more than £200 million of investment, including an expanded workforce and manufacturing capability, a growing international retail network and the first four motorcycles in its product portfolio.

Twelve months later, the emphasis has moved from intent to delivery. New Norton motorcycles are in production, customer deliveries are under way and the company continues to expand the support infrastructure required for sustainable international growth.

Richard Arnold, Executive Director, Norton Motorcycles
“One year ago, at EICMA, we set out an ambitious vision for Norton’s Resurgence. Twelve months on, we are delivering on that ambition: new motorcycles are reaching customers, our international retail network is growing and we continue to invest in the people and capability behind the brand. The new models we are revealing in Milan represent the next stage of that journey.”

World Premiere: New Norton 450 urban

Riders entering the motorcycle world traditionally had to choose between accessibility and aspiration, between practicality and passion, between affordability and craftsmanship.

The new Norton 450 urban redefines what riders should expect from a modern single-cylinder motorcycle. It brings together the understated character of one of Britain's most iconic motorcycle brands with the needs of a new generation of riders seeking inspiration, individuality and freedom in an increasingly urbanised world.

Riders are seeking lighter, more versatile machines that fit seamlessly into modern life. The new Norton 450 urban is designed to fulfil that need: whether commuting, exploring new neighbourhoods, or escaping city life at the weekend, the new Norton 450 urban transforms everyday transportation into a confident personal statement.

The new Norton 450 urban is not an entry-level motorcycle. It’s an entry point into the Norton world. Its mission is simple: to deliver a premium urban riding experience that combines accessible performance and intuitive handling with distinctive Norton design and a comprehensive package of rider technology. Built around the belief that desirability is defined by design, emotional connection, riding experience, and attention to detail, the New Norton 450 urban delivers a motorcycle that moves beyond its category.

For new riders, it provides a premium and approachable start – one that isn’t so easily outgrown. For seasoned riders, it delivers a lightweight, engaging, and rewarding ride that fits their urban lifestyle.

Developed around a lightweight platform, featuring a unique-in-class aluminium frame, both versions of the new Norton 450 urban apply the design, dynamics and detail of Norton’s larger new-generation models to a more compact and accessible format with a broad appeal.

The new Norton 450 urban also offers the same core package as a more rugged option. It retains the new Norton 450 urban’s fundamental performance and accessibility while adding distinctive design cues and features.

Distinctive Norton design

The new Norton 450 urban has been created with the same dedication to proportion, surfaces and detail that defines the new generation of Norton. Every element creates a motorcycle that feels purposeful, desirable and unmistakably Norton. Its stance is confident, its details are deliberate and nothing exists purely for decoration.

A core objective was to take the Norton design principles and apply them to a bike that is as accessible as possible: a low, narrow seat, a low tank with a surface sloping away from the rider. Elements that not only give a feeling of space but make the bike more approachable, lighter and less intimidating – a motorcycle that belongs naturally in the city but still has the presence and character of a Norton.

One source of inspiration was the 1927 Norton CS1. The line that runs from the rear wheel, through the swingarm and the main frame leading to a shallow tank are instantly recognisable, yet modern and progressive. The main frame and swingarm form the main dynamic graphic through the bike: dramatic, pure and authentic.

As with every new-generation Norton, achieving this fresh take on motorcycle design requires absolute synergy between design and engineering, working in parallel from the outset. The design is deliberately reductive, exposing certain mechanical elements of the motorcycle while covering others, guiding how the engineering itself becomes part of the visual identity.

Large surfaces with minimum edges and direction changes together with fading creases create a taught surface tension without becoming angular. Working closely with the engineering team, the design goals were achieved with no compromise in several key design and engineering features:

  • Automotive-level panel gaps
  • Minimal visible fixings
  • Fuel cap is covered
  • Engine is covered

All these features are carefully complimented by modern colour options.

The new Norton 450 urban adopts the cleaner appearance of a modern naked motorcycle, combining mechanical elements with a strong emphasis on materials, paint finish and detail. Both variants express this contemporary design language in different ways.

The new Norton 450 urban features 17” silver cast wheels, a silver frame and road tyres while the same philosophy can be expressed in a more rugged visual character. The option retains the new Norton 450 urban’s fundamental performance and accessibility while adding distinctive design cues: black cast wheels, a grey frame and swing arm, extended mudguards, handguards and fork protectors, a flyscreen and unique seat trim, all combining to broaden its capability beyond paved road

Simon Skinner, Head of Design, Norton Motorcycles
“The opportunity we saw with the new Norton 450 urban was to take everything we believe makes a Norton special – our heritage, our design philosophy, our craftsmanship and our obsession with detail – and bring it to a completely new segment and community of riders. Both versions represent a modern and progressive take on motorcycle design, especially in this segment. For example, to me the new Norton 450 urban is not a naked bike but it’s not faired either, it’s the best of both worlds.”

Compact performance with real-world character

Both models are powered by a liquid-cooled 454 cc single-cylinder engine, producing 47 PS at 8,000 rpm and 45 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Drive is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox, with a quickshifter among the available rider-focused technologies.

The torque delivery, typical of a Norton, is available from low down in the rev range giving the feeling of a larger capacity engine. The engine has been designed and tuned for linear acceleration and in-gear response, with the aim of providing an engaging ride for experienced riders while allowing less experienced riders to build their confidence.

Compact packaging, a 12-litre fuel tank, and target kerb weight of under 180 kgs reinforce the focus on agility and everyday usability while ensuring compliance with A2 regulations.

One platform, two characters

Underpinning both variants is a unique-in-class aluminium frame, specifically tuned – as with the other members of the Norton family – to suit the intended nature of the new Norton 450 urban: confidence inspiring with dynamic characteristics suited to a more urban environment. Engaging for the experienced rider, not intimidating for the newer rider.

The shared chassis of the new Norton 450 urban has been developed to balance responsiveness with stability and low-speed control. A fully adjustable 43 mm KYB upside-down fork is paired with a KYB rear monoshock adjustable for rebound and pre-load. The ByBre braking system features a 320 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc, supported by cornering ABS.

The new Norton 450 urban uses 17-inch cast wheels and road-focused tyres to emphasise agility and confidence. A more rugged visual character is also offered, with additional weather protection and the use of distinct colours to blend urban suitability with a wider capability while retaining the new Norton 450 urban’s underlying road manners and performance.

Adjustable brake and clutch levers, a low seat and optimised heat management all offer enhanced comfort levels at all times and for longer distances.

Technology that supports the ride

Both models benefit from a package of integrated technology that broadens capability without complicating the riding experience. The latest systems provide additional safety and security. Dynamic LED headlights, cornering ABS, traction control and cruise control work alongside three rider modes. The level of electronic support is customisable, offering riders the potential to tune the bike exactly how they want.

Connectivity and advanced features allow the bike to integrate into and compliment the rider’s lifestyle: keyless ignition and smartphone connectivity are as important as features like heated grips, a 8” TFT touchscreen, an integrated USB-C charger, a tyre pressure monitoring system and quickshifter.

The guiding principle is the same one applied throughout Norton’s new generation of motorcycles: technology should enhance confidence, convenience and engagement and not dominate the riding experience.

Brian Gillen, Chief Technical Officer, Norton Motorcycles
“Norton’s Resurgence respects our 128-year history, but it is also unashamedly forward-looking. Every new Norton is being developed around the same core principles of distinctive design, engineering detail, accessible performance and technology that enhances the connection between rider and machine. EICMA 2026 shows how we are applying those principles across an increasingly broad range of motorcycles.”
